Christian Christmas Gifts in Canada, Priced in CAD

Christmas gift guide cover: Christian Christmas Gifts in Canada, Priced in CAD.

A grandmother stands at the kitchen counter on the first Sunday of Advent, a catalogue open beside the kettle. She wants something for the grandchildren that isn't a plastic reindeer.

Short answer: the Christian Christmas gifts below run from $20 to $87 in Canada, and the quiet ones people actually use or display are usually the best.

She flips past the snow globes. She wants the baby in the manger to be in the picture somewhere, but she doesn't want the gift to preach at anyone.

That's the question behind most searches for Christian Christmas gifts. How do you give something that's honest about what you're celebrating without making the person opening it feel handled? The answer is usually to choose something quiet that people will use or look at, and to let the story do its own work.

Here are seven, in two groups. Our own come first. All prices were checked on 23 Oct, and any price in US dollars is marked.

Two from our shop

  1. Names of Christ Mug, $25 (our price on 23 Oct). The names given to the promised child at Christmas are stacked around the mug in graded type, so there's something to read over the first coffee of Christmas morning. You can add a name at the base. Best for: an adult who'd like a quiet gift. Not for: a child, or anyone who has all the mugs they need.

  2. The Word Became Flesh Print, $25 (our price on 23 Oct). Words from the Gospel of John's account of Christmas, centred on a quiet print with generous margins and a single rule beneath. It's for people who prefer John's Christmas to the stable scene. Best for: a reader who likes plain type. Not for: a child who wants shepherds and sheep.

Five from other sellers

  1. Emmanuel Tee, from the Reformed Perspective Store in Smithers, B.C., CA$20 (checked 23 Oct). A plain Advent tee printed with a prophecy about Immanuel. The shop's shipping isn't stated on the listing we read, so check its page before you order. Best for: someone who prefers a quiet verse on a shirt. Not for: anyone wanting bright Christmas colours.

  2. Rotating wooden nativity Advent calendar, from GraverStudioGifts, CA$51.20 (checked 23 Oct). A wooden 25-day Advent calendar with the Holy Family in a manger scene, printed in colour and meant for children. The shop calls itself a family workshop from Ukraine and has been on Etsy since 2026. It ships to Canada. Best for: a family that wants a countdown tied to the nativity story. Not for: anyone who wants a long-established shop.

  3. Nativity Plaques, Set of 3, a Christianbook exclusive, US$24.99 (checked 23 Oct). Three wood-framed nativity plaques on a wood base, one shaped as a stable with the Holy Family and the star. Christianbook's shipping chart lists Canada. Best for: a small mantel. Not for: anyone wanting figurines.

  4. Fisher-Price Little People Nativity Playset, through Christianbook, US$49.99 (checked 23 Oct). The listing says it has 12 chunky figures, including Mary, Joseph and the baby, sized for little hands. A plastic nativity a toddler can carry around the house. Best for: a toddler's first nativity. Not for: anyone wanting a keepsake display.

  5. Modern blue ceramic nativity creche, from Potterybydaina, CA$86.33 (checked 23 Oct). A free-standing, one-piece ceramic nativity in a contemporary style, now in indigo. The potter says each piece is rolled and assembled in her Arizona studio, and the listing ships to Canada. Because it's a single piece, it reads as sculpture on a shelf. Best for: a host who wants a nativity that looks modern in a plain room. Not for: anyone who wants separate figures children can move.

The story the gifts point to

Luke tells the Christmas story from the angels' side, with a message for people who'd been out in the cold all night.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:10-11, KJV)

If a gift helps someone hear that, it's done its work.

How we chose

We put our own gifts first and choose the rest by hand, from sellers whose listings tell us enough to describe the item honestly. We check each price on the date shown and say when it's in US dollars. We only use a seller's own words for how an item was made, and we don't repeat reviews we didn't collect. Some links earn us a small commission at no cost to you. How we pick, and what we earn, is on our disclosure page.

Questions people ask

  • What is a good Christian Christmas gift? Something quiet that people will use or look at: a mug, a print, a nativity or an Advent read. Pair it with a note that says why you chose it.
  • Can I buy Christian Christmas gifts in Canada without paying duties? It depends on where the seller ships from, and we can't promise it for other sellers' goods. Check the seller's page for duties and shipping before you order.
  • How much should I spend? The picks above run from CA$20 to CA$87, apart from two sold in US dollars. Choose the amount you'd give any other friend, and let the story carry the rest.
  • Can I order for a whole church? Yes. Our church page takes orders from 10 to 200 pieces. See the order-by dates there for Christmas.
  • Are prices in Canadian dollars? Ours are. For other sellers we show the price in the currency the seller uses and say so. Christianbook prices are in US dollars.
